Hindi alintana ng mga kababaihan ang init ng panahon at nakiisa sa grand rally and parade mula sa tatlong point areas kabilang ang Brgy. Lucao, Mayombo at Arellano, sa Brgy. Pantal hanggang sa nagkita-kita ang mga ito sa City Plaza para sa inihandang programa.

Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. said the city today has engaged the services of more women civil servants and women volunteers than at any other time in Dagupan’s history.

“We want a caring, nurturing city for our children. I see a future full of possibilities and more women civil servants helps us achieve this goal,” he said.

Fernandez made this declaration during the general assembly for various women’s groups and civic association during the Women’s Month celebration at the City Plaza last March 8.

The Bangus Festival 2010 organizing committee headed by Festival Chairman Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez has once again added another new event for the festival dubbed “Yaman ng Norte Diad Bangus Festival 2010.”

According to VM Fernandez, Yaman ng Norte is a new activity that is going to be introduced this year. It is a one town, one product that will showcase different products, delicacies, culture and events of various towns and cities from Northern Luzon.

Towns and cities from Regions 1, 2 and 3 have already confirmed their participation in the exhibit.

At least 200, 000 Dagupenos are expected to join 1 billion people around the world on March 27 to show support and solidarity to the 2010 Earth Hour by turning off their lights for one hour.

On the same day, many of the world’s most iconic landmarks will dim their lights for one hour, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, in what is expected to be the largest call for action on climate change in history.

“After we bore the brunt of destructive typhoons in 2009, I believe everyone knows that climate change is real and it’s happening right now, impacting our water resources, power, agriculture and health, putting our livelihoods and economic future at risk in every part of the world,” Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. said.

For the 12th straight year, Dagupan City has again been chosen as one of 60 cities and municipalities nationwide for the Operation Bigay Lunas, Libreng Gamutan, a corporate social responsibility of the Mercury Group of Companies which has forged a strong partnership with the City of Dagupan headed by Mayor Alipio F. Fernandez, Jr. in providing free and accessible quality health care to indigent Dagupeños.

On March 1, 2010, in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Mercury Group of Companies, Operation Bigay Lunas 2010 has benefited 1,882 indigent sick Dagupeños from the 31 barangays of the city, given free consultation and almost P850,000.00 worth of medicines at the Dagupan City Peoples Astrodome.

The City Government of Dagupan through Mayor Alipio F. Fernandez has inked Memorandum of Understanding with the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) headed by Director Remigio M. Olveda M.D., an agency of the Department of Health, designating the Dagupan City Health Office as one of 33 sentinel sites nationwide as an influenza surveillance network sentinel site. The ongoing 2009 AH1N1 pandemic, the threat of Avian Influenza pandemic, SARS and other emerging viral diseases makes it imperative for a need to conduct influenza like illnesses to identify circulating influenza viruses in the country and alert it of any viruses with pandemic potential.

Ibinahagi sa publiko ng Commission on Election (COMELEC) Dagupan ang wastong paggamit ng Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine na nakatakdang gamitin sa darating na lokal at nasyonal na halalan sa Mayo 10, 2010.

Ang demonstrasyon ng PCOS machine na itinakda sa Dagupan ay ginanap ngayong ika-25 ng Pebrero ganap na alas nueve ng umaga sa City Museum base na rin sa direktibang ibinigay ng Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor sa COMELEC Dagupan.

Ginawaran ng pagkilala ng Coast Guard District of Northern Luzon ang mga indibidwal at organisasyon na may malaking kontribusyon sa mga layunin ng naturang tanggapan, kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng kanilang ika-26 anibersaryo na ginanap sa Poro Point San Fernando La Union, ika-19 ng Pebrero, 2010.
