Some 4,000 senior high school students from Dagupan City joined the opening of a two-day Higher Education Institution (HEI) Career Fair conducted by the city government starting April 17 at CSI Stadia as part of the activities for Bangus Festival 2024.
Dubbed as ‘Tagumpay Mo Kabataan, Pangarap ng Dagupan’, the event aims to serve as career development support and anti-illegal recruitment campaign for graduating K to 12 students in public and private schools in the city in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Association of Private Schools, Colleges, and Universities (APSCU) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
Mayor Belen Fernandez encouraged the young learners to reach for their career goals with patience and determination and make the best out of their productive years.
Lectures also include the most in-demand courses, related jobs, employment opportunities and details on various government-recognized programs offered by major universities and colleges in Dagupan aside from technical-vocational courses under TESDA and the Alternative Learning System (ALS) of the DepEd.

The career fair adheres to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal # 8: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH to promote inclusive and sustained economic growth, employment and decent work for all.
