Around 300 coconut seedlings were planted along the stretch of Bonuan Tondaligan shore in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority as part of this year’s celebration of the 77th Agew na Dagupan.
Aside from providing protection from natural disasters, benefit human life, and beautification of the environment, the local chief executive welcomed the program of Philippine Coconut Authority and the Department of Agriculture with the aim of reviving the industry of ‘bucayo’ making (sweetened coconut) which the city is also known for its famous delicacies.
A total of 5,000 coconut seedlings will be planted in the 31 barangays of the city whereas dwarf coconut trees will be planted as well as in households.
