CITY OPENS AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES

The City Government of Dagupan, led by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, opened the city’s Affordable Housing Project for low-income families through an orientation earlier today, November 14, at the Dagupan City Plaza.

Aside from low-income families, the project will also prioritize the Local Government Unit (LGU) employees and Pag-IBIG Members.

During the coordination meeting, Pag-IBIG Membership Drive, and Fund Briefing with the city government employees, the local chief executive explained the importance of investing and owning your home.

“Pag mag-invest kayo ng bahay niyo, invest niyo ngayon, yung tatlong libong (3000) piso niyo after five (5) years to ten (10) years wala ng halaga yun, para na lang siyang five hundred (500) pesos. By that time, ang sweldo niyo pataas na nang pataas. Hindi niyo na mararamdaman ang inyong hulugan, kumita pa kayo dahil tumaas na yung presyo ng bahay. ” the mayor explained.

Fernandez continued her discussion, sharing her vision regarding this project.

“Kasi ang plano namin labing-isang (11) building ang itatayo. One thousand one hundred (1100) na bahay ang dapat nating maitayo” she added.

Mayor Belen thanked the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the PAG-IBIG Fund for their help in making this program possible for Dagupeños.

The housing program is aligned with President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program with the aim of improving the lives of every Filipino through the acquisition of a livable home for them and their families.
